Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has awarded the Satyalancana Bhakti Buana honorary medal to 140 personnel of the Garuda Bhayangkara Contingent's Formed Police Unit (FPU) 7 Task Force for their exemplary service in United Nations peacekeeping operations.

Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) Commissioner General Wahyu Hadiningrat presented the decorations during a welcome-home ceremony at the National Police Headquarters in Jakarta on Monday.

In remarks delivered by Hadiningrat, National Police Chief General Suyudi Ario Seto commended the contingent for bringing honor to Indonesia following the successful completion of their mission under the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) in Bangui, Central Africa.

"Through hard work, discipline, and a steadfast commitment to humanity and global peace, you have brought honor to the National Police and the nation on the international stage, while demonstrating Indonesia's dedication to supporting world peacekeeping missions," Seto stated.

He emphasized that Polri’s participation in UN peacekeeping missions is not merely an assignment, but a tangible contribution toward humanitarian aid and stability in conflict zones.

He added the mission directly fulfills Indonesia's constitutional mandate, as stipulated in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution, which directs the country to actively participate in maintaining a world order based on independence, lasting peace, and social justice.

Seto expressed his highest appreciation to the 140 officers who carried out their duties with utmost dedication and professionalism.

"The National Police is proud of you. Indonesia is proud of you. Welcome home, and enjoy your reunion with your beloved families," he said.

The police chief also reminded the returning officers that completing this deployment does not mark the end of their duty, but rather the start of new responsibilities.

"Let the experience and lessons learned during your deployment serve as an inspiration to continuously lead by example and deliver the highest level of service to the nation," he said.
