MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) recorded more than 83,000 passengers that have passed through ports nationwide on Tuesday, Nov. 3, after the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, or Undas.

According to its latest tally, at least 44,720 outbound passengers and 38,738 inbound passengers were monitored between 6 a.m. and noon.

All PCG districts, stations, and sub-stations remained on heightened alert until Tuesday, Nov. 3, due to the expected high volume of passengers returning from their home provinces at ports.

The PCG earlier reported an increase of passengers that travelled by sea during All Souls’ day on Nov. 2 with 764,255 outbound passengers and 697,255 inbound passengers recorded in all ports across the country.

According to the Philippine Ports Authority, the number of travelers recorded between Oct. 27 and Nov. 2 this year decreased to 1,362,454, compared in 2025 with 1,623,836 passengers recorded.

The agency said that the increase in fare rates may have caused the decline of passenger traffic at ports. /mr
