Iyinoluwa Aboyeji resigns as Learn Africa non-executive director

Nigeria’s largest educational publisher, Learn Africa Plc, has announced the resignation of Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, a Non-Executive Director, from its Board of Directors, effective 7 September.

The publisher disclosed this in a regulatory filing signed by DCSL Corporate Services Limited, the Company Secretary, on Tuesday.

The company extolled Mr Aboyeji’s dedicated service and strategic guidance to the educational publisher in the previous years.

Mr Aboyeji has been instrumental in the company’s growth in the educational technology space, Learn Africa added.

“The Board expresses its sincere gratitude for his dedicated service and strategic guidance, which have been instrumental to the Company’s growth in the educational technology space. The Board wishes him continued success in his future pursuits,” the company said.

Mr Aboyeji is the General Partner and Co-founder of Future Africa and a co-founder of Andela and Flutterwave.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Waterloo and is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader. He also advises African governments and serves on the boards of several corporations.

Learn Africa was incorporated in August 1961 as a book publishing company, established as a subsidiary of the renowned Longman Group (UK) Limited, now Pearson Education Limited, one of the world’s largest education businesses.

Learn Africa is Nigeria’s largest educational publisher, with over 5,000 titles and a workforce of over 210 staff members spread across the country.

The company distributes imported Longman Group titles and develops original content in English and indigenous languages to meet the growing demand for books in the Nigerian market.
