Senator Raffy Tulfo on Thursday floated the possibility that another senator from the minority will transfer to the now 14-member majority bloc.

This came after Senator Mark Villar formally joined the majority on Thursday and was elected member of the Commission on Appointments and chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Works.

“Minority sa majority, mukhang meron siguro. Palagay ko. I don’t know, I’m not gonna tell you baka mamaya ma-preempt. Pero palagay ko meron siguro. Palagay ko lang,” Tulfo said in an ambush interview.

(I think someone will transfer from minority to majority. I believe so. I just don’t want to say who because I might preempt it, but I think someone will transfer.)

Asked when such a possibility would happen, he said, “Time will tell.”

Earlier, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson said that Senator Loren Legarda is “welcome” to return to the Senate majority bloc, but emphasized that she should go back to the Philippines first.

Legarda has been on extended medical leave since August 3. The last time she was seen at the Senate was on July 29, during the plenary session. — Giselle Ombay/RSJ, GMA News
