India allrounder Prema Rawat scored an unbeaten 14-ball half-century to register the fastest fifty in women's T20s, during the Senior Women's T20 Trophy while playing for Uttarakhand in Pune.

Batting at No. 4 against Hyderabad, Rawat struck six boundaries and four sixes to lift her team to 187 for 2. Rawat walked in to bat in the 18th over and hit three consecutive boundaries off medium pacer Sakshi Rao. She then blasted 18 runs off offspinner Vanka Pooja's over and then took on Kunchala Niteesha for 6, 4, 4, 6 off the last four balls of Uttarakhand's innings to bring up her record half-century. Her partner at the other end, Raghvi Bist, made an unbeaten 72 off 50 balls.

Marie Kelly (for Warwickshire in 2022), Fatima Sana (for Pakistan in 2026) and Laura Harris (for Otago in 2025 and Surrey in 2026) previously held the record in T20s, each making a half-century off 15 balls.

In the chase, Hyderabad could only make 98 for 8, with Rawat also starring with the ball. She removed opener G Kavyasree and N Kranthi Reddy and finished with figures of 2 for 12.

Rawat, 24, made her India debut in June this year and has seven wickets in seven T20Is so far. She was particularly impressive in the Asia Cup group-stage match against Pakistan, where she finished with figures of 3 for 9.

She was part of Royal Challengers Bengaluru's title-winning seasons in the 2025 and 2026 WPL and has picked up three wickets in six games in the tournament. She was retained by the franchise ahead of the 2027 season.
