#SHOWBIZ: Kaka Azraff on divorce, co-parenting and life lessons

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Kaka Azraff has dismissed claims that her recent cryptic social media posts were aimed at her ex-husband, Adam Azriff.

Clarifying the updates on her Threads account, the 37-year-old artiste—whose real name is Nor Atiqa Noor Azraff—explained that her posts stem purely from personal life experiences rather than any intent to target individuals.

Instead, she hopes her words offer comfort to others navigating difficult times.

"I speak from experience," Kaka said during a press conference for the 25th Music Industry Awards (AIM25).

"I feel I have navigated various phases of life—losing parents and siblings, going through marriage, divorce, and raising children. That is why I feel there is something I can share with those who might be going through similar or even tougher situations."

The Bukan Hal Aku hitmaker stressed that her main goal is to motivate people to rebuild their lives when times get tough.

"My intention is purely to share so that others can draw inspiration. When I was going through those moments, I actively sought out relatable figures. I just want to share so others find the strength to rise again. I have been at rock bottom myself," she added.

Addressing her current relationship with her ex-husband, Kaka shared that the two remain on good terms while learning how to co-parent effectively.

"Praise be to God, my ex-husband and I are co-parenting. This is our first time navigating such a situation, so we are still adjusting. It is all still new, and we are working to find a balance. As usual during this initial stage, I refuse to pretend or romanticise things as if everything is perfect," she admitted.

While acknowledging that going through a divorce is never easy, she emphasised that their children remain the priority.

"Life is not all sunshine and roses. Anyone who has been through a divorce will understand that it is certainly not easy. However, we must keep striving to find the best way forward so the process becomes easier for both sides. For me, the children's welfare comes above all else," Kaka said.
