Nairobi Police Chief assures ODM of security ahead of Jacaranda rally
Nairobi Regional Police Commander Issa Mohamud said the suspects were arrested for obstruction and other offences in two separate incidents/CFM

NAIROBI, Kenya Oct 30 – Nairobi Regional Police Commander Issa Mohamud has assured ODM of adequate security during the planned rally.

Speaking after a meeting with Nairobi security chiefs, Mohamud said police officers would be deployed along the route from Uhuru Park to Jacaranda Grounds to maintain security and ensure the orderly movement of participants.

He warned against any attempts to disrupt the gathering, saying security agencies would take the necessary measures to maintain law and order.

The security chief urged residents, motorists and visitors to plan their movements early and stay informed about police directives and possible road closures or diversions.

He said police had received notification of the planned rally, which is expected to culminate at Jacaranda Grounds.

Mohamud maintained that the Central Business District (CBD) would remain off-limits, warning that police would not allow the capital to descend into chaos.
