Translate

Coventry and Super Eagles forward Taiwo Awoniyi has achieved another major milestone away from the football pitch after graduating from the PFA Business School with a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Football Sport Directorship, completing the programme with Merit.

The 29-year-old forward celebrated the achievement as another important step in preparing for life beyond his playing career. Awoniyi believes footballers should continue learning and developing their knowledge of the game, both on and off the pitch.

The Nigeria international says education has become an important part of his journey, stressing that being a professional footballer should not prevent players from continuing to learn and develop.

Awoniyi said:

“I have always believed that being a footballer shouldn't stop you from being a student of the game and education has become an important part of that journey for me.”

Awoniyi’s qualification focuses on football leadership and sport directorship, giving him valuable knowledge that could prove useful in the administrative and executive side of the game after his playing days. This provides a foundation for a future career in football administration and leadership after his playing days.
