JPJ nets RM91.2m from ‘H’ series plates, confirms RM10.7m winning bid for ‘H 1’

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 — The Road Transport Department, better known by its Malay initials JPJ, collected RM91.2 million from bidding for the new “H” series special registration numbers (NPI), with a single plate, H 1, fetching RM10,777,777, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) said today.

In a media statement, the ministry said the total of RM91,206,642 came from bidding held entirely on the JPJeBid system from Sept 16 to 20.

Of that, RM89,266,542 was bid revenue and RM1,940,100 was service fees. The series was introduced to mark Malaysia Day 2026.

A total of 34,664 bidders took part, and 8,223 registration numbers were successfully bid on. That works out to an average of roughly RM10,860 per number sold, based on the bid revenue.

H 1 was the highest bid by a wide margin. The next highest was H 9 at RM4,969,999, followed by H 3 at RM4,209,777, H 5 at RM4,007,777 and H 8 at RM4 million. H 6 went for RM3.38 million, H 2 for RM3.18 million and H 7 for RM3.1 million. H 4 fetched RM2,437,777 and H 11 RM1,557,777.

The numbers that drew the most bidders were H 1001 and H 100, with 37 each. They were followed by H 1805 with 36 bidders, and H 1777 and H 4818 with 32 each.

The ministry called the result proof of the success of the government’s digital transformation through JPJeBid, which it said makes bidding easier, faster, more efficient and more transparent.

It said all proceeds will go back to the public through MOT and JPJ programmes, including road safety and initiatives that benefit the community directly.
