London travel news LIVE: Power cut knocks out station as Tube suspension woe continues

Trains have been unable to stop at a north London station due to a major power cut.

Essex Road Station in Islington was badly affected by the outage, which meant its lighting was cut off.

The outage also impacted Liverpool Street Station, where information boards went blank.

Meanwhile on the Tube, the Victoria line has been hit by a signal fault causing the service to be partially suspended.

Delays at Essex Road station after massive power cut

National Rail announced there would be delays at Essex Road Station near Islington after a massive power cut hit major parts of London.

An earlier failure of the electricity supply meant trains were unable to call at the station.

Delays to Lioness line

There are minor delays across the entire Lioness line due to an earlier customer incident at Stonebridge Park.

Good service returns to Central line

Good service has returned to the Central line after earlier train cancellations caused disruptions.

Delays on the District line

There are minor delays on the District line between Earl’s Court and Wimbledon.

TfL said the delays are due to faulty train at Parson’s Green.

Service alteration between West Ealing and Greenford

A speed restriction has been imposed on the Great Western Railway service between West Ealing and Greenford.

National Rail said the restrictions mean the line will be running at a reduced service.

Trams part closed for two days

Tram lines will be part closed until Wednesday due to planned engineering works.

TfL says there will be no eastbound service between Wandle Park and Centrale and no westbound service between Church Street and Wandle Park during this period.

Delays on the Central line

The Central line is experiencing minor delays across the entire line due to train cancellations.

Delays on the Piccadilly line due to ill person

There are minor delays on the Piccadilly line due to an earlier track inspection and an ill person on the train at Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3.

TfL says the delays are expected between Acton Town and Heathrow Airport.

Victoria line part suspended due to signal failure

The Victoria line has been part suspended between Victoria and Brixton due to a signal failure at Brixton.

TfL says there will be severe delays across the line while the issue is being fixed.
