Actor Veer Pahariya’s second film, Prem Keetanu, was released in theaters on October 2. The Hindi rom-com clashed with Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam -The Conclusions at the box office. Directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, Prem Keetanu had a very slow start at the box office. The film is also heavily inspired by the Malayalam blockbuster Premalu. Even though it’s not a scene-by-scene remake, the core plot is the same as Girish AD’s directorial.

It comes as no surprise that the Veer Pahariya starrer had a slow start at the box office despite releasing on a national holiday. The film went up against Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3, which witnessed a record-breaking opening-day collection. The film has earned 0.5 crore on day 1 across 1800 shows, with an occupancy rate of 12%. With Veer Pahariya’s film receiving mixed to negative reviews, it is unlikely to gain momentum in the coming days.

Veer Pahariya made his acting debut in 2025 with the film Sky Force. The film also starred Akshay Kumar in the lead. Owing to the star presence, the film opened with 12.25 crore net in India. This makes Prem Keetanu’s opening-day collection 95% lower than Veer’s debut film.

The upcoming film Prem Keetanu revolves around a group of young men dealing with life, including college, friendship, love, and heartbreak. The story explores the struggles and aspirations of young men through a comic, relatable narrative.
The makers describe the characters as boys: “Jinko college main na marks mile, na ummeed, na pyar, kuch mila to sirf dost aur khoob sare heartbreaks.” The story aims to resonate with today’s youth and evoke nostalgia in older generations, connecting their lived experiences with aspirations for the next generation.
Directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, the film is produced by Gaurav Verma under his new production banner, Avanika Films, along with Phars Films. Verma previously worked as an independent producer on films including Darlings, Bhakshak, Jawan, and Badla during his time at Red Chillies.
