Zambales gov’t offices adopt varied work setups amid heavy rains

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Government offices in parts of Zambales adopted alternative work arrangements on Wednesday as the southwest monsoon continued to bring heavy rains and threaten flooding and travel hazards.
In the towns of San Marcelino, Cabangan, Palauig, and Olongapo City, government offices shifted to alternative work arrangements, including work-from-home setups. But essential services such as health and disaster response remained operational.
The capital town of Iba and Masinloc, meanwhile, maintained skeletal staffing in key offices to ensure the continued delivery of essential public services, with other personnel allowed to work under alternative arrangements.

The San Felipe municipal government retained its regular 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. work schedule. Employees unable to report because of severe flooding or inaccessible roads were exempted, provided they informed their supervisors.
The Candelaria government also maintained regular work for its municipal employees.
The local arrangements followed Memorandum Circular No. 129 issued by Malacañang, which directed government offices in Zambales and other affected provinces to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements due to anticipated continued heavy rainfall associated with the enhanced southwest monsoon.
Meanwhile, classes were suspended at all levels in the municipalities of Subic, Castillejos, and San Antonio, and Olongapo City.
