Hollyoaks confirms Cindy arrest as she plots to destroy crucial evidence

Hollyoaks’ Cindy Cunningham is set to be arrested next week, as she steps up to help save guilty Imran Maalik to destroy evidence – and their plan goes seriously wrong.

In recent weeks, it was discovered that Imran and Cindy previously enjoyed a brief romantic relationship in LA, and the pair orchestrated Ste’s kidnapping in an elaborate revenge plot.

However, Cindy eventually realised that the situation had gone too far and urged Imran to stop, but Imran pushed forward alone as the plan continued to spiral out of control.

This week, Ste was finally found and taken back to the village, and it didn’t take long for the truth about Imran’s crimes to be exposed to the community. Lucas also reported Imran to the police – and told Donny that he had a gun.

Armed police surrounded the houseboat and shot Imran when they mistakenly thought he had a weapon, leaving him in a critical condition.

With Imran’s life hanging in the balance, Cindy’s guilt took over and she explained to Misbah the truth about her and Imran’s relationship and revenge plan. She made clear that she hadn’t told the police everything – and Misbah warned her to keep it that way, or she’ll regret it.

In scenes that will air next week, Misbah carries on threatening Cindy into staying silent about what happened. Meanwhile, she also asks her partner Donny to start protecting her son, even though this causes a moral dilemma for the detective.

Viewers last saw Imran in cardiac arrest, but new spoilers reveal that doctors ultimately save his life. As he recovers from his injuries, Imran summons Cindy to help him get rid of some important evidence that is still on the houseboat.

Cindy agrees, so heads to the boat to retrieve the laptop that will incriminate Imran. However, she is caught in the act by Donny and Dodger, who question what she is doing.

Quick-witted Cindy lies to the police and sheepishly tells them that there are some inappropriate images of her on Imran’s computer. Then she makes a very rash move by throwing the laptop into the river!

This doesn’t work at all, as Dodger has no choice but to arrest Cindy for tampering with evidence. Meanwhile, Donny calls his colleagues and requests a dive team to fish out Imran’s bag from the water.

Will the device be retrieved, and is the game up for Imran?

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
