Ayushmann Khurrana gets extortion call from Lawrence Bishnoi gang, demanding crores of rupees: Report

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana has reportedly received an extortion call from a person claiming to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who allegedly demanded crores of rupees.

The police are examining the recording and matching the caller’s voice with samples available in their records. Actor Tusshar Kapoor has also recently received a threatening audio message from a caller identifying himself as ‘Harry Boxer’.As part of the investigation into Tusshar’s case, the Crime Branch’s technical team analysed the audio recording and compared it with official voice samples of Harry Boxer in its database. However, senior police sources were quoted by NDTV that that the voices did not match. This has raised suspicion that the caller may have been impersonating a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to threaten the actor and extort money. The threats come amid growing concerns over the safety of Bollywood celebrities, particularly after a firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai’s Juhu area on October 18. Shroff was travelling in his car when the attack took place. The 36-year-old actor escaped unhurt, but his driver and a passerby sustained injuries. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang subsequently claimed responsibility for the firing. Police have named jailed gangster Bishnoi’s aide, Anil Pandit, as a wanted accused in the case.

So far, 13 people, including the alleged shooters, have been arrested.Investigators have also found that the shooters had allegedly conducted reconnaissance at the residences of several Bollywood stars, including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar. The incident has prompted heightened security measures across the film industry, with several celebrities and their security teams taking additional precautions.

Actor Ronit Roy, who also runs a private security company, confirmed to the same portal that more celebrities are seeking enhanced protection."Yes, there has been a demand to increase security cover among celebs. It's all preventive in nature. Everyone wants to be careful and feel protected," he said.Amitabh Bachchan was also seen taking additional precautions during his customary Sunday appearance outside his Juhu residence. The veteran actor greeted fans from behind a bulletproof glass enclosure, while his son Abhishek Bachchan remained nearby, keeping an eye on the security arrangements.
