Apple Creator Studio Brings MotionVFX and AI Assistants to Subscribers

Apple really is “Pro and Tell“-ing us a lot of news this week. On Tuesday, the company announced that its suite of creative software, Apple Creator Studio, will receive a bevy of AI-powered updates. That’s in addition to the new iMac, MacBook Pros and new OLED iPad Mini that the company also announced this week.
Final Cut Pro, Apple’s professional-grade video editor, is getting built-in MotionVFX. That should bring more visual and graphic effects tools to content editors on Mac. Logic Pro is getting a new beta AI assistant (powered by AI models built by Apple and OpenAI) for music editors in the US, along with a redesigned browser that uses Apple’s new Liquid Glass aesthetic. Pixelmator Pro is getting a kind of generative fill tool that uses AI to resize and fill in the gaps in new images; it sounds like it may be similar to Photoshop’s popular generative fill.
In Apple’s business software, expect to see new AI assistants in Keynote, Pages and Numbers. These are likely similar to how Google has integrated Gemini into its software over the past few years (and hopefully less annoying). The updated software will be available as “a free update for existing subscribers” in November.
More from CNET
The Apple news has been fast and furious this fall. The Cupertino-based company dropped the new iPhone 18 Pro lineup, along with its first folding phone, the iPhone Duo. Then it refreshed its entire smart home lineup, complete with a new HomeView device. We’re expecting even more Apple hardware news to drop on Wednesday, the in-person day of its Pro and Tell event that experts say could bring another long-awaited Apple first: a touchscreen MacBook. CNET is tracking all the Apple shenanigans this week and testing the new iPhone Duo — by folding it over 75,000 times and counting.
You can buy individual, lifetime (or “universal” as Apple calls it) subscriptions to each of Apple’s creative software. But these new features are coming only to Apple Creator Studio subscribers, who have access to multiple programs and pay a higher price tag as a result. Apple Creator Studio subscriptions start at $13 per month, and if you do buy a new MacBook, you get a free three-month trial.
