Most-played games range from Clair Obscur to Civ to Elden Ring to Halo 2 and beyond.

Dungeon Crawler Carl fans are waiting with bated breath for an official announcement on Book 9's release date, though it may take a while considering author Matt Dinniman recently released a few teaser chapters and has a ton of story left to tell. That said, the author has proven he can turn out releases like they're going out of style, with Book 8, A Parade of Horribles, releasing in May 2026, just a year and a half after This Inevitable Ruin debuted in November 2024.

Looking at the larger series, Dinniman has released eight full-length novels since Dungeon Crawler Carl first arrived in 2020, an impressive pace considering the increasingly ambitious scope of each installment. With Book 9 set to kick off a two-volume finale, fans could be in for a lengthy wait before Carl and Donut's story reaches its conclusion, but there's plenty to keep them busy until then.

Fortunately, there's another major Dungeon Crawler Carl release officially arriving on November 23, giving fans something new to look forward to in the meantime.

  • Dungeon Crawler Carl with potion

  • Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG characters fighting

Renegade Game Studios is preparing a massive new wave of Dungeon Crawler Carl releases for November 23, 2026 alongside the larger launch of the upcoming RPG and Unstoppable deck-building game, including the official Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG: Loot Packs, which are currently available to preorder through retailers like Game Nerdz.

These collectible mystery packs are part of the franchise's larger tabletop RPG expansion, with each containing a seven-piece polyhedral dice set and a collectible temporary tattoo. There are 20 different themed dice sets and 20 possible tattoos, with the dice divided into 12 common, five rare, and three legendary designs. Rare sets have advertised odds of one in six packs, while legendary sets are considerably harder to find at just one in 100.

The three legendary designs reference some of the series' most recognizable characters and catchphrases, including Samantha's infamous "I Will Kill Your Mother," Princess Donut's "Non-Alcoholic Dirty Shirley, Extra Cherries," and a special Princess Donut the Queen Anne Chonk set. Fans can preorder individual Loot Packs or an entire unopened display box containing 20 packs, although the randomized assortment means duplicates are possible. The full contents and details are here:

  • Each Pack includes one set of dice with multiple collection levels.
    • 12 common dice sets,
    • 5 rare dice sets (1 in 6 packs),
    • 3 legendary dice sets (1 in 100 packs).
  • The 3 legendary sets are:
    • I Will Kill Your Mother Dice Set
    • Non-Alcoholic Dirty Shirley, Extra Cherries Dice Set
    • GC, BWR, NW Princess Donut The Queen Anne Chonk Dice Set
  • 20 possible temporary tattoos to collect!

These collectibles accompany Renegade's highly anticipated Dungeon Crawler Carl Roleplaying Game, which allows players to create their own Crawlers and attempt to survive the World Dungeon. The Starter Set covers the first two tutorial floors, while the 300-plus-page Core Rulebook explores floors three through five (or roughly through Book 4), introducing extensive character customization, quests, monsters, familiar locations, and more.

Meanwhile, November also marks the retail debut of Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable, a separate deck-building game from designer John D. Clair. This solo or two-player cooperative experience lets fans play as Carl or Princess Donut, battling enemies and upgrading their cards as they progress through the dungeon's first three floors. Two expansions, Crawler Chaos and The Iron Tangle, are also arriving this month, introducing additional playable characters and the fourth floor.

All of these releases follow Renegade's record-breaking crowdfunding campaign, which raised over $13.29 million from approximately 55,000 backers. Fulfillment began in October, and some supporters have already received their games and collectibles. However, the official retail release is scheduled for November 23, meaning Dungeon Crawler Carl fans who missed the original campaign will soon have their chance to join the crawl.
