Anjali Arora gets legal notice seeking Rs 1.20 crore from Kanpur event organisers over alleged early exit and remarks about city residents

Social media influencer and actress Anjali Arora, who became famous through her viral dance reel on ‘Kacha Badam’, is now facing a legal problem. Organisers of an event in Kanpur have reportedly sent her a legal notice seeking Rs 1.20 crore in damages and a public apology, after videos from the show went viral.

Let's learn more about it in detail.

Legal notice sent to Anjali Arora

The row began at an event in Kanpur on October 15, when videos showed Anjali Arora losing her temper at the DJ for playing ‘Kacha Badam’. Other clips showed her criticising the event management.According to a report by Amar Ujala, the organisers of the ‘Nagada Night’ event have sent the notice for allegedly leaving the show midway and making derogatory remarks about the city’s residents.

The notice has also gone to her manager, Preeti Dubey, and asks for compensation and a public apology within 15 days.An application has also been submitted at the Swaroop Nagar police station in Delhi, asking for a fraud case to be registered against Anjali and her manager.

Organisers claim insult to guests and financial loss

Advocate Karim Ahmed Siddiqui said the notice seeks Rs 1 crore for alleged defamation and another Rs 20 lakh for losses said to be caused by her sudden exit.

The organisers say she was supposed to stay on stage for 45 minutes and hand over mementoes to sponsors and special guests. They allege that leaving early insulted the guests and caused financial damage. The organisers also claimed that Anjali was paid Rs 3 lakh for the appearance and that more than Rs 1 lakh was spent on her travel. The advocate warned that he would move court if the police did not register a case.Anjali Arora has not yet reacted to the allegations.
