Translate

Nigerian champions Rangers International have called on their supporters to turn out in large numbers ahead of their CAF Champions League second preliminary round encounter against Algerian side MC Alger.

The first-leg encounter is scheduled to take place at the Moshood Abiola Sports Complex on Sunday, with kick-off set for 2pm Nigerian time.

General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the Flying Antelopes, Amobi Ezeaku, appealed to Nigerians to demonstrate their solidarity with the team by coming out in large numbers to cheer the players.

Ezeaku expressed confidence that the presence and encouragement of the fans would inspire the team to deliver a spirited performance and secure a favourable result ahead of the decisive return leg.

He described the encounter as more than just a football match, noting that Rangers, one of Nigeria’s historic football clubs, represents the hopes, pride and aspirations of Enugu State and the country on the continental stage.

Rangers booked their place in the second preliminary round after overcoming Sobemap of the Benin Republic in the opening round.

Fidelis Ilechukwu’s men advanced 4-3 on penalties after the two-legged tie ended 2-2 on aggregate.
