Coronation Street's Kit to face consequences over shocking work incident

Coronation Street’s Kit Green reaches breaking point this week as the stress of chemotherapy starts to take its toll.

Feeling suffocated by his family and struggling to focus at work, Kit lashes out and unleashes an explosive tirade! Can Lisa help her colleague through his cancer ordeal?

"Stubborn Kit does not make a great patient," says our Corrie insider. "The guy is a lone wolf who’s not used to relying on other people, so having to take advice and be fussed over is starting to get on his nerves.

"You can see a meltdown coming a mile off, but will letting off some steam make things better – or worse?"

Bernie can’t do enough to look after her eldest since he moved in with her and Dev. However, her insistence that he maintains a nutritious diet to keep his strength up just makes Kit feel suffocated.

His mum’s not the only one pushing Kit’s buttons, as Lisa brings him a pamper hamper to help him relax. Unfortunately, it has the opposite effect and just makes Kit more angry!

Surrounded by Bernie and Gemma’s constant talk about the BRCA gene, Kit feels there are reminders of his health crisis wherever he turns. Dev clocks his son-in-law could do with a distraction, so he takes him out for a curry and a quiet word.

Urging Kit to understand Bernie is just being protective, even if she is a bit overboard, can Dev help diffuse the tension between the pair?

Knackered from his treatment, but refusing to take time off, Kit shows up for a shift at work, even though he’s clearly not well enough. Lisa encourages him to go home and rest up, but Kit’s not having it – leading to a tricky situation where the cop loses his cool…

"Kit walks past a lady in the waiting room at the station who starts having a coughing fit practically in his face!" reveals our source. "Kit’s meant to be avoiding any risk of infection, so this is the last thing he needs, and he has a massive go at this woman."

Having seen Kit explode, concerned Kirk tracks down Bernie, Dev and Brody to tell them what just happened. Lisa is sympathetic but unimpressed at Kit’s conduct and demands he go on sick leave.

Incandescent Kit accuses Bernie of going behind his back to his boss, but was it her who raised the alarm about his behaviour, or someone else?
