Numerous members of the Gilmore Girls cast and crew are reuniting to honor the series 26 years after its premiere.

After seven seasons of the original Gilmore Girls series and a four-part limited revival show, Netflix's A Year in the Life, in 2016, the 2000-debuting franchise is receiving an exciting new retrospective this year. In 2025, Ink On Paper Studios launched a campaign to fund a documentary celebrating over 25 years of Gilmore Girls, titled Drink Coffee, Talk Fast, with the feature-length film including all-new interviews with the original cast members, crew, and fans. Now, a year later, the project has officially landed a premiere date.

ScreenRant can exclusively reveal that the Gilmore Girls documentary Drink Coffee, Talk Fast will premiere on Friday, November 13, 2026 at the Palace Theater in Los Angeles. From co-directors Meghna Balakumar and Kevin Konrad Hanna, the new film's debut will be part of the Secret Movie Club/Los Angeles International Film Festival for this year's opening day programming.

In addition to announcing the release date, ScreenRant is able to confirm several more interviewees who will be featured in the documentary. The new names include original series director Lesli Linka Glatter, The WB's former President of Entertainment Susanne Daniels, Gilmore Guys podcast co-host Demi Adejuyigbe, production designer Rachel Kamerman, first assistant camera Mark Strasberg, and steadicam operator and director Stephen Clancy.

Meanwhile, numerous members of the original Gilmore Girls cast were previously confirmed to appear as interviewees in Drink Coffee, Talk Fast. Among those who will be featured are Emily Gilmore actor Kelly Bishop, Dean Forester actor Jared Padalecki, Tristin Dugray actor Chad Michael Murray, Lane Kim actor Keiko Agena, Babbette actor Sally Struthers, Miss Patty actor Liz Torres, Mrs. Kim actor Emily Kuroda, Gypsy actor Rose Abdoo, Taylor actor Michael Winters, and more.

Also appearing in the documentary are director Jamie Babbit, writer and producer Stan Zimmermann, costumer Valerie Campbell, casting directors Jami Rudofsky and Mara Casey, and Gilmore Guy podcast co-host Kevin T. Porter. It's still unclear whether Lorelei Gilmore actor Lauren Graham or Rory Gilmore actor Alexis Bledel will be involved in the new documentary, though Graham previously told Entertainment Tonight in September 2025 that she wouldn't be part of it without the show's original creators also being involved.

Drink Coffee, Talk Fast is not affiliated with or endorsed by Gilmore Girls' producers or Warner Bros. Entertainment. The new film is not to be confused with HBO Max's recently announced official and first "authorized" Gilmore Girls documentary that reportedly went into production in early August 2026. The company's documentary is confirmed to involve Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, executive producer Daniel Palladino, and actor Lauren Graham, as well as other original cast members.
