Hollyoaks' Lucas makes deadly request in unexpected new Gemma twist

Lucas Hay made a deadly request on Hollyoaks tonight, with his relationship with Gemma Johnson becoming clearer. But despite this, there's still no sign of Lucas's much-loved father Ste.

The popular character went missing earlier this month following a trip to a shopping centre, and the mystery only started there. With several suspects having something to gain, the plot has certainly thickened.

It was recently revealed that Jenson Cole – a police officer who has worked undercover in Gemma's operation – had discovered that Gemma put a hit out on Mercedes McQueen, the latter of whom was travelling with Ste at the time of his disappearance.

Tuesday's (29 September) episode of the Channel 4 soap began with Mercedes at loggerheads with Warren Fox over the security of his children, with him not wanting Sienna Blake anywhere near them.

She subsequently spoke with Jenson, and resolved to find Ste. She soon suspected that he was hiding something, and this led to him telling her that Gemma had used Brick to target her.

Gemma insisted that she didn't know where Ste was, but confessed that she was jealous of the family unit that Mercedes had. The latter, who was full of rage, quipped: "You can put lipstick on a pig… but it's still a pig".

Gemma later confided in Warren and got intimate with him, but she got a huge shock later on as Lucas broke into her house. He said that he urgently needed Gemma's help in order to "move someone", but who could he be talking about?

It remains to be seen if Lucas has gone to the lengths of kidnapping his father, but next week's scenes make it clear that he is harbouring a secret with Gemma. Unfortunately for them, somebody will have prying eyes.

Leah Barnes, Ste's daughter, will overhear her half-brother confessing his huge feelings of guilt. But what exactly is Lucas guilty of, and is it anything to do with the disappearance of his father?

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
