After Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s ‘Saiyaara’, Shaan R Grover to lead ‘Junglywood’, a psychological thriller on nepotism in Bollywood

After making an impression with his role in Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara, actor Shaan R Grover is set to headline the upcoming Hindi psychological thriller Junglywood. The film blends dark humour, action and drama to explore nepotism and the lesser-seen realities of the film industry.Directed by Chand Mohammad, Junglywood promises a mysterious, high-stakes story that aims to offer a satirical take on the entertainment business. The makers are reportedly planning to unveil the film’s trailer around Halloween, although its theatrical release date has not yet been announced.

Director Chand Mohammad on the idea behind ‘Junglywood’

Speaking to Variety India about the film’s vision, director Chand Mohammad explained that Junglywood aims to explore humour while keeping audiences on the edge of their seats.“It’s necessary to know how to take a joke on and with ‘Junglywood’, we aim to do that. The film is one of a kind, and every second will have the audience on the edge of their seats,” he said.By combining dark humour with action and drama, the film seeks to examine the dynamics of the entertainment industry, including nepotism and realities that often remain behind the scenes.

Why Shaan R Grover was chosen to headline ‘Junglywood’

Explaining the decision to cast Grover as the film’s lead, Chand Mohammad pointed to the actor’s performance in Saiyaara and his journey outside the traditional film-family system.

“Shaan doesn’t come from a film background, but he left a lasting impression with ‘Saiyaara’ last year. So, we felt he would be the perfect to be the face of our story,” the director said.Grover’s casting also aligns with the film’s exploration of nepotism and opportunities within the entertainment industry. With the actor stepping into the lead role, Junglywood marks another significant project in his growing filmography.

Shaan R Grover’s next films after ‘Saiyaara’

Following Saiyaara, which starred Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in the lead roles, Grover has several projects lined up. His next release is expected to be the romantic film Tum Mere Ho, which also features Gurmeet Choudhary and Isha Malviya. With Junglywood, the actor will take on the responsibility of headlining a film, a milestone he says is particularly exciting.“Every actor dreams of headlining their own film, and with ‘Junglywood,’ I am getting that chance.

What adds to the appeal is the team behind it,” Grover said.He also encouraged audiences to look forward to the film’s intriguing premise, describing it as a mysterious adventure.“The audience should buckle up for a mysterious adventure,” he added.

‘Junglywood’ cast and trailer release plans

Apart from Grover, Junglywood features Akash R Jagga, Irina Rudakova and Deepak Kalra in key roles. The cast also includes newcomers Dia Singh, Anoushka Chauhan, Niya Bapalawat and Twinkle Arora.
