South Jakarta Immigration seeks foreigner who harassed motorist

Translate

Jakarta (ANTARA) - South Jakarta immigration officials are searching for a foreign man who harassed a motorist on Gatot Subroto Road on October 7, officials said.

“We are also searching for the foreign national,” Prihatno Juniardi, head of the office's immigration intelligence and enforcement division, told reporters in Jakarta on Friday.

Earlier, the Threads account @shbaldy posted a viral video showing a foreigner harassing the account holder and climbing onto the hood of their car on Gatot Subroto Road in Setiabudi, South Jakarta.

Prihatno said officials were coordinating with several parties, including the immigration regional office responsible for the area.

He said the man holds a visit stay permit, which allows him to move between locations.

“That means he does not stay at one address for long,” he said.

The South Jakarta office could not confirm the man's nationality because officials needed to check his passport.

Rian Kasim, the South Jakarta Immigration Office's information and communications chief, said it had coordinated with the Jakarta regional office of the Directorate General of Immigration to locate the man.

“The foreigner is believed to be staying in Jakarta," he said while urging anyone with information about the man's whereabouts to report it to the nearest immigration office.
