Andrew Haas Joins ‘The Brutalist’ Producer’s Andrew Lauren Productions As Head Of Production And Development

EXCLUSIVE: Andrew Haas has joined the production banner of The Brutalist producer Andrew Lauren as Head of Production and Development.

At Andrew Lauren Productions, Haas will help Lauren ramp up his film and television slate, identifying and developing material, cultivating filmmaker relationships, and moving projects toward production. The role brings him back to a feature film focus after a decade spent building and leading television slates.

In television, Haas launched and led Johnny Galecki’s Alcide Bava Productions under its Warner Bros. Television deal, developing projects including the CBS comedy Living Biblically. He later ran television development for Charlize Theron’s Denver & Delilah Productions under deals with UCP and HBO.

Earlier in his career, Haas held senior roles at Paramount Pictures and Donald De Line’s production company before serving as co-president of Sacha Baron Cohen’s Four By Two. His work in feature development and production includes I Love You, Man, Observe and Report, Going in Style and Ready Player One. He recently produced an untitled feature for Live Nation Studios and was an EP on Audible podcast The Debutante.

An exec producer on Tom McCarthy’s climate change film A Statement, which is coming off its world premiere at the New York Film Festival and will be released by Sony Pictures Classics, Lauren several years ago produced The Brutalist, Brady Corbet’s epic indie drama which scored 10 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, and won three, including a statuette for star Adrien Brody’s performance.

Additional credits for Lauren, as either producer or EP, include The Squid and the Whale, The Spectacular Now, High Life and Corbet’s earlier film Vox Lux. He also originated Visalia and Capture the Flag, two feature projects developed with Taylor Sheridan that are now set up with Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions and 101 Studios.
