KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 — Maritime industry executive Datuk Seri R. Jeyenderan, who was investigated over alleged threats made against social media influencer Caprice and his family, wants to know whether anyone has since been identified as being behind the threats.

The chief executive officer of Maritime Network Sdn Bhd said a year had passed since Caprice lodged the complaint against him, and it was important for him to know the outcome, particularly as he had been questioned by police for several hours before the case was classified as no further action (NFA).

“I totally understand that the police investigated based on Caprice’s complaint. I’m not questioning the authorities, but I would like to know the status of the case as I gave my full cooperation to the police.

“The allegation was serious as it tarnished my name and caused embarrassment. I was questioned by police for several hours during the investigation last year, yet no charges were subsequently brought against me.

“I therefore want clarification on what happened to the case and whether anyone has been charged. How many people were called to give statements in connection with the case?” he said in a statement today.

Jeyenderan also called on Caprice and the police to clarify whether the person or persons behind the alleged threatening messages had been identified.

He stressed that he was not seeking to interfere with the authorities’ decision, but wanted a clear explanation of how the case had concluded.

Caprice lodged the police report on July 10 over an Instagram message that allegedly contained a threat. The case was investigated under Section 507 of the Penal Code.

In November last year, the investigation paper was referred to the Selangor Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office and was subsequently classified as NFA.

In July last year, Caprice also published several Instagram posts, including photos and videos of Jeyenderan, which allegedly linked the businessman to various criminal activities without credible evidence.

Jeyenderan subsequently filed a defamation suit against Caprice, claiming the posts had damaged his reputation and caused him financial losses.

The trial is scheduled to begin at the High Court here in February 2027.
