Kaduna gov woos North-West voters for Tinubu

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has urged voters in the North-West to reciprocate what he described as the benefits of President Bola Tinubu’s administration with votes for his re-election in 2027.

Sani made the call on Saturday during the inauguration of coordinators and members of the “Relax, Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria” support group for the seven North-West states in Kaduna.

The governor, who spoke through his Special Adviser on Politics, Abubakar Mamadi, said the region had benefited significantly from the Tinubu administration, particularly in agriculture, education, youth empowerment and women development.

“No region has benefited under Tinubu’s administration like the North, particularly the seven states in the North-West region,” Mamadi quoted Sani as saying.

He urged members of the support group to take the achievements of the Federal Government to the grassroots and mobilise voters across Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Jigawa, Sokoto and Zamfara states ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Sani’s appeal came amid increasing political mobilisation by supporters of the President and opposition figures ahead of the 2027 elections.

The governor charged the coordinators to ensure that residents in rural communities were adequately informed about the administration’s policies and interventions.

The convener of the group, Mike Auta, also tasked members with intensifying grassroots mobilisation, saying the campaign must extend beyond the major cities.

“Go to all nooks and crannies of the states and mobilise the people. We must ensure victory for President Tinubu come 2027,” Auta said.

The group’s women leader, Karima Abdullai, said women across the North-West had benefited from cash assistance and empowerment programmes introduced by the Tinubu administration.

She called on women to support the President’s re-election bid, expressing confidence that more women would benefit from the programmes if he secured a second term.

Also speaking, the Director of Town Hall Engagement and Special Duties, Farida Bala, appealed to Nigerians to remain patient with the administration, describing its policies as part of an ongoing process of rebuilding and restructuring the country.

“Let us be honest with ourselves, rebuilding a nation is not easy, patience leads to progress, and progress leads to prosperity,” Bala said, likening the process to renovating a neglected house.

The organisers said the Kaduna event marked the beginning of a broader mobilisation campaign across the North-West aimed at securing support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
