SHAH ALAM: The Selangor government, through Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor (Yawas), will officially open new applications for Skim Mesra starting tomorrow with a special quota of 50,000.

State Women, Family, and Welfare Committee chairman Anfaal Saari said the scheme provides an annual financial incentive of RM150 from the state government as a token of appreciation for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PwD) during their birth month.

She said to ensure services and benefits are distributed fairly and equitably, registration is open specifically to Selangor residents who meet the eligibility criteria.

"For senior citizens, applicants must be aged 60 and above, Malaysian citizens, and registered voters residing in Selangor.

"For the PwD category, applicants must hold a valid card from the Social Welfare Department and be Malaysian citizens, with no age limit for registration.

"In terms of voter and residency requirements for the PwDcategory, applicants aged 19 and above must be registered voters and reside in Selangor, while for applicants aged 18 and below, these conditions apply to their parents," she said in a statement today.

Anfaal said that as of today, registered members under Skim Mesra total 374,094, comprising 344,625 senior citizens and 29,469 OKU members.

She added that records to date show 233,616 members have collected their vouchers.

"The state government encourages eligible Selangor residents to register online starting at 8am tomorrow via the official Yawas Skim Mesra portal at https://mesra.yawas.com.my.

"Applications open this year, while the distribution of benefits will begin in 2027. For further information or assistance with registration, the public can contact the Yawas hotline at 03-5481 8800 or email pertanyaan.yawas@gmail.com," she said.
