Suspended deputy national police commissioner Shadrack Sibiya has told the Randburg Magistrate’s Court that he had consensual sex with the 18-year-old complainant in his rape and sexual grooming case.
Sibiya, 59, revealed this in an affidavit filed in his bail application on Tuesday.
He appeared in court on charges of promoting the sexual grooming of a child, sexual grooming of a child, rape, and trafficking in persons.
He was arrested last week for allegedly sexually grooming a 16-year-old girl between July and August this year, and allegedly raping an 18-year-old at a Sandton hotel in May.
