At least five local government units (LGUs) have announced that the implementation of the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP) starts today, October 5, 2026.

These LGUs are: Manila, Quezon City, Valenzuela, Parañaque, and Muntinlupa.

The NCAP is a policy that uses closed-circuit television, digital cameras, and/or other gadgets or technology to capture videos and images to apprehend vehicles violating traffic laws, instead of traffic enforcers on the ground.

Motorists caught violating traffic rules will face standardized fines under the Metro Manila Traffic Code of 2023.

They can check their traffic violation alerts through their respective local government units’ (LGUs) online portals.

Motorists can also check if they committed violations on mobile phones using the eGovPH Super app, just look for the MMDA NCAP service.

Meanwhile, fines may be paid online.

Those who believe they were wrongly apprehended may also file a protest or contest the violation online through the LGU portals. — BAP, GMA News
