McLachlan and Wills return to face Australia

Rachel McLachlan and Evie Wills return from injury to start for Scotland against Australia in their final home match of the WXV Series on Saturday.

Sarah Bonar and Hannah Ramsay also come into the starting line-up as interim head coach Dave Butcher makes four changes following the 66-14 defeat by New Zealand.

Montpellier's McLachlan comes into the line-up at openside flanker, with Sale Sharks' Eva Donaldson dropping to the bench for the match at Hive Stadium, Edinburgh, being shown live on BBC Alba and BBC iPlayer (kick-off 16:10 BST).

Glasgow Warriors' Wills starts at outside centre in place of Edinburgh's Rachel Philipps, who misses out through injury.

Edinburgh's Ramsay, who was a replacement against Canada and the Black Ferns, makes her second Scotland start at full-back, with clubmate Chloe Rollie dropping to the bench.

Harlequins lock Bonar, who came off the bench last time out, makes her first appearance in a Scotland starting XV since the 2025 Rugby World Cup quarter-final against England and replaces Trailfinders' injured Emma Wassell.

Bristol Bears hooker Lana Skeldon will become the second-most capped Scotland women's player when making her 90th appearance.

Having made her first start against the Black Ferns, Glasgow's Ceitidh Ainsworth keeps her place at scrum-half.

Edinburgh scrum-half Leia Brebner-Holden is named in the matchday squad for the first time this campaign after overcoming injury.
