LAURA CRAIK: Telltale shades of grey... is Brooklyn's hair showing signs of family strain?

It may not be springtime, but Paris is still the place to be - certainly for Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz, who made the ten-hour journey from Los Angeles to appear at Paris Fashion Week.

Sadly for his mum Victoria, the demonstrative couple's affections do not seem likely to extend as far as supporting her catwalk presentation, scheduled for 7pm on Friday.

The Peltz-Beckhams did, however, elect to sit front row at the Balenciaga show on Thursday. While Brooklyn, 27 – who declared in January that he was estranged from his family – smiled gamely for the cameras, his greying temples perhaps indicated that the stress of the very public fallout is beginning to show.

Once seated, the couple immediately held hands, with Nicola, 31, rearranging Brooklyn's hair in a gesture that seemed to be choreographed, given he was mocked on social media for rearranging hers on the red carpet at last month's Venice Film Festival.

The couple kissed before showering affection on another front row guest - Balenciaga designer Pierpaolo Piccioli's dog, Miranda, seated to the left of Brooklyn.

Spurious as the couple's appearance may have seemed, it was not nearly as spurious as the Duchess of Sussex's turn at the same show last year. 

Meghan surprised onlookers by turning up at the Balenciaga show despite having no previous affiliation with the designer or brand.

By contrast, Nicola is said to have a close friendship with Piccioli. In 2022, when he was artistic director of Valentino, he stepped in to design Nicola's wedding dress after she decided against wearing one of her mother-in-law's creations.

Last month the actress wore a purple Balenciaga gown in Venice. 

Also jetting in from LA to Paris was Apple Martin, who made her catwalk debut at the Chloe show on Wednesday. 

The 22-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin looked angelic in white broderie anglaise.

Also in head-to-toe white was supermodel guest Claudia Schiffer, 56, in a tailored trouser suit, while Ines de Ramon, 33, girlfriend of Brad Pitt, looked equally spring-like in an off-shoulder blue chiffon dress.
