PowerBall jackpot resets after R112 million win

Translate

The PowerBall jackpot has reset after one lucky South African became R112 million richer after scooping the jackpot in the Tuesday, 13 October draw.

The winning ticket was purchased at OK Foods Meyerton, with the player emerging as the sole jackpot winner in PowerBall draw number 1763.

Meyerton is a small industrial and residential town located 18km north of Vereeniging in Gauteng.

Lucky numbers

The five numbers drawn were 3, 15, 24, 30, 31 while the PowerBall bonus ball – which is also required in winning the jackpot – was 7.

Following the win, the PowerBall jackpot now stands at an estimated R12 million for the Tuesday, 20 October draw.

The PowerBall Xtra jackpot, meanwhile, is an estimated R19 million for the next draw on Tuesday evening.

As a reminder, the PowerBall and PowerBall Xtra draws take place every Tuesday and Friday on e.tv (channel 194) and SABC at 21:00 (SA time).

Those wishing to enter have until 20:40 on the night of the draw to do so.

The PowerBall jackpot draw requires players to pick five main numbers from 1 to 50 and one “PowerBall” number from 1 to 16 for an entry fee of R10.00 per board.

Players must be 18 years old.

Urged to come forward

South Africa’s latest PowerBall jackpot winner has been urged to come forward and claim his – or her – life-changing R112 million prize.

The winning ticket holder has yet to come forward as at the time of publishing, with the National Lottery operator encouraging the winner to take the necessary steps to protect their ticket and claim the jackpot.

“We congratulate our latest PowerBall jackpot winner on this extraordinary win. Winning R112-million is a life-changing moment, and we look forward to welcoming the winner when they come forward to claim their prize,” said Kgothatso “KG” Mashile, Head of Marketing at Sizekhaya Holdings.

Advice for the R112 million winner

Mashile urged the winner to complete their personal details on the back of the physical ticket immediately and keep it in a safe place.

Protecting the ticket is an important step towards securing the prize while preparing to claim the jackpot.

Once the winner comes forward, they will also have access to free and confidential professional counselling and financial guidance through Sizekhaya Holdings.

The support is intended to help the winner navigate the significant changes that come with receiving such a large sum of money and make informed decisions about their financial future.

“An extraordinary win like this brings incredible possibilities, but it is important for the winner to approach this new chapter with care and make informed decisions that will help secure their future,” Mashile added.

A life-changing lottery win

The R112 million jackpot could transform the winner’s financial circumstances, but the lottery operator has emphasised the importance of approaching the windfall responsibly.

Professional guidance can help the winner consider their options and plan for the long term rather than make rushed financial decisions.
