The Voice UK star Sir Tom Jones has provided a disappointing career update, following a recent health battle. Earlier this week, the legendary singer was forced to cancel a number of shows in California after coming down with the flu.

Jones first shared his illness via an Instagram post on Monday, where he explained the sudden rescheduling. He apologised for the inconvenience, and said he looked forward to reuniting with his fans soon.

"I've had a great time these last few weeks, completing 20 shows and singing for wonderful audiences across the USA, but unexpectedly I've been hit with a bad case of the flu," he wrote in the post.

The Welsh singer shared that his doctor had advised him that the best course of action would be postpone the shows for that evening and the following night, but it isn't the only bit of bad news.

Now, in another update, the singer has had to reschedule even more shows, starting with tomorrow night's concert in Sacramento. He once again thanked fans for their support, and promised to keep them updated as soon as possible.

"I'm really sorry, but following further advice from my doctor, my next two shows on October 31st at Hard Rock Live Sacramento, CA and November 1st at The Masonic, San Francisco, CA will need to be postponed until further notice," he wrote on Instagram Stories.

"I know this will be disappointing for those of you who were planning to attend, and I thank you for your continued support and understanding," he continued, before noting that customers could get a full refund if they couldn't attend the rearranged date.

Fans in the comment section posted their well wishes for the singer, despite many travelling to see him at his show. They explained how much his music meant to them, and shared fond memories of listening with their loved ones.

"Tom, I flew out from Kaua'i to LA to see you tonight. My mom first took me to the Greek when I was just 12 to see you. I'm now 40 and was coming back to see you at the Greek, again. We wish you well. We don't know if we can make the reschedule but I'll try," wrote one.

"I'll be coming to your rescheduled concert next week in honour of my late father. We used to sing your songs in his car when I was a kid," said a second, with a third posting: "Please take care of yourself and feel better soon."

The Voice UK series 15 will broadcast in 2027, meanwhile the current season is airing on Saturday nights on ITV1 and ITVX.
