Finecut Scores Sales On Trio Of Titles Starring Members Of K-Pop Groups NCT, Fifty Fifty & The Boyz

Korean sales agent Finecut has locked several deals on a trio of movies featuring K-pop stars, including members of NCT, Fifty Fifty and The Boyz.
The three movies – After-School Exorcism Club: Girls’ Night, Wi-Fi Love In The Palace and Wind Up: The Movie – are all theatrical editions of short-form series from the Kitz platform featuring K-pop stars. Kitz is Takeone Company’s global K-pop-focused content platform.
After-School Exorcism Club: Girls’ Night, which had its world premiere at this year’s Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN), has been sold to Indonesia (Catchplay+), Singapore (Shaw Organisation) and Taiwan (Cola Films).
Directed by Jung Zoo, the film, about five high school students who investigate a spirit haunting their school, stars Fifty Fifty members Keena, Chanelle Moon, Yewon, Hana and Athena, each playing one of the students. The group rose to international prominence with their 2023 hit Cupid and returned with a new lineup in 2024.
Wi-Fi Love In The Palace has gone to Japan (KDDI Corporation), Indonesia (Catchplay+) and Taiwan (Cola Films).
Based on the Kakao Page webtoon, it tells the story of a webtoon artist looking for his next hit and a palace maid who hopes to rise in the royal court. Their stories become linked through a mysterious cabinet that connects the present with 200 years ago. The Boyz’s Younghoon stars alongside Luda and Kim Dong-jun. Chang Tae-you serves as creative director with Sa Seok-choon directing.
Meanwhile, Wind Up: The Movie, starring NCT members Jeno and Jaemin, has been sold to Hong Kong and Macao (Emperor Cinemas). It was previously sold to CIS (Best Cinema), Japan (KDDI), Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia (Purple Plan), Taiwan (Caichang) and Thailand (Sahamongkolfilm International).
The three titles will be presented at Broadcast Worldwide (BCWW) and the ongoing Toronto market.
