India’s star shuttler P. V. Sindhu made easy work of her Round of 32-opponent in UAE’s Prakriti Bharath to advance in the Hylo Open 2026 in Saarbrucken, Germany.

Sindhu defeated the UAE shuttler 21-10, 21-10 in just 28 minutes to enter the Round of 16. The second seeded Indian will face France’s Rosy Oktavia Pancasari.

The two-time Olympic champion, Sindhu, is coming on the back of a tremendous final run at the French Open Super 750 tournament, where she fell short against World No. 1 An Se-young in the summit clash.

Meanwhile, another Indian women’s singles player in Ashmita Chaliha exited in the first round after losing 21-18, 12-21, 8-21 to Kaloyana Nalbantova of Bulgaria in 54 minutes.

Ashmita too had entered the Super 500 tournament on the back of an impressive run in Paris, exiting in the quarterfinals to end a run which included beating Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi.
