Prosecution seeks subpoena for Trillanes in Sara Duterte impeachment trial

The prosecution in the trial of Vice President Sara Duterte has asked that the impeachment court issue a subpoena for the appearance of former Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV next week.

According to a post by GMA News' Joseph Morong on X (formerly Twitter), the prosecution, in a manifestation before the impeachment court, requested the testimony of the former lawmaker in connection with Article II of the Articles of Impeachment.

This includes matters concerning Duterte’s alleged “unexplained wealth and alleged receipt or acquisition of funds from persons or sources identified in the evidence presented before the impeachment court.”

The prosecution said PhilGEPS division chief Rendelle Sopeña is expected to again take the witness stand on Monday.

Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte has already been subpoenaed and will possibly be presented on Monday or Tuesday. –NB, GMA News
