An offer of P7,055,664 was made to four Maserati luxury cars during a recently conducted negotiated sale, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) said on Sunday.

Among the units auctioned were two 2021 Maserati Levante Modena with respective accepted offers of P1,594,388 and P1,601,000.

There were also two 2021 Maserati Levante GT Hybrid with accepted offers of P1,930,088 and P1,930,188, respectively.

Fast Car Traders Corp. submitted the accepted offers during the negotiated sale.

However, the sale of the vehicles is not yet final, as the agreed prices still require approval from the Department of Finance (DOF) before the transaction can be fully executed, the BOC said.

“Ang layunin natin ay matiyak na ang mga sasakyang nasa kustodiya ng BOC ay mapapakinabangan ng pamahalaan sa legal at transparent na paraan. Mahalaga na masunod ang lahat ng kinakailangang proseso at pag-apruba upang masiguro na patas ang bawat transaksyon at napoprotektahan ang interes ng taumbayan," said BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno in a statement.

(Our goal is to ensure that the vehicles in BOC custody are put to good use by the government in a legal and transparent manner. It is essential that all required processes and approvals are followed to guarantee that every transaction is fair and that the public interest is protected.)

The Department of Finance earlier said the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the BOC are expected to step up their collection efforts as the government’s total revenues are projected to reach P5.5 trillion by the end of the current administration. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA News
