Family dispute behind fight involving three men in Johor

Translate

JOHOR BARU: A family dispute is believed to have sparked a fight involving three men, including a senior citizen, outside a shop in Plentong.

Seri Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the three men, aged between 27 and 60, had been arrested to assist investigations.

He said police had detected a two-minute-six-second video of the incident uploaded to Facebook on Saturday.

"Initial investigations found that the three suspects were related and that the fight stemmed from a family dispute, he said in a statement today.

Sohaimi said the case was being investigated under Sections 324 and 160 of the Penal Code.

"The three suspects have been remanded for three days until Nov 3 to assist investigations," he said.

A separate 2-minute-54-second video had earlier gone viral, showing a senior citizen being allegedly pushed, kicked and slapped by a man outside a car wash in Plentong.

The footage drew criticism from social media users, who expressed sympathy for the victim and questioned the man's actions.
