2027: Abia youth group backs Tinubu, Benjamin Kalu

Members of the Great Aba Men group and the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu.
Abia youths, comprising artisans and owners of Small and Medium Enterprises, under the umbrella of “Great Aba Men” in Abia State, on Saturday, declared support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu.
Speaking on behalf of the group during a courtesy visit to Kalu at his country home in Bende, the group’s leader, Okwudiri Uche, pledged that Abia youths will give Tinubu the highest number of votes in the South East in the 2027 presidential election.
He said, “From today, we have declared for Mr President. We will support Mr President and Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu. Asiwaju is the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“There is no way we will have the Deputy Speaker of this Federation from Abia State, supported by Mr President, and not return the President. It will not happen. Rt. Hon. Sir, we will make you proud because we will deliver President Tinubu. Abia youths will make it happen. He will go for a second term. Aba people will not let you down.”

The group, which congratulated Kalu on his appointment as Director-General II (South) of the PBAT/APC Presidential Campaign Council, requested him to serve as their Grand Patron, and also revealed plans to organise a one-million-man march for the President in Aba.
In his remarks, the Deputy Speaker commended the group for declaring support for the President and himself, and noted the President’s love for the people of the South East, particularly Abia State.

Kalu stated that for the President to have supported a son of Abia to emerge as the Deputy Speaker, he deserves to be repaid with gratitude.
“From today, you have become Mr President’s foot soldiers and will take the message of Renewed Hope to every nook and cranny of Aba. I declare you the sons of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We are starting a movement that will go beyond January 16, 2026,” Kalu said.
He promised to support the group with a campaign bus for the planned march, charging them to mobilise across the state and take the message of Tinubu’s administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda to the hinterlands.
“Every street will come out to show that we are supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In Bende, the President will harvest all the votes because the Deputy Speaker is from this local government.
“So, go and put up your strategy. We will show that Great Aba Men are behind the President. We must make sure the President wins in Aba. I want you to be very visible in Aba and take over Aba. Let’s comb the city to announce our presence,” he said.
