Williams wins September Fans’ Player of The Month

Wonah Williams has been voted the Nigeria Premier Football League Fans’ Player of the Month for September after receiving the highest number of votes from supporters.

The winger received the award on Monday morning, beating goalkeeper Dede Dare and defender Damian Chibueze to the monthly accolade.

Williams enjoyed a productive September, helping the People’s Elephant secure seven points as they sought to recover from a difficult start to the season.

His performances earned him the backing of supporters, who voted him ahead of his teammates to recognise his contributions during the month.

Williams will receive a cash prize of N100,000 alongside the award, which celebrates the player considered by fans to have made the greatest impact during the period.

Dare and Chibueze were the other nominees for September’s award.

The monthly initiative gives supporters a direct role in recognising individual performances within the squad, allowing them to vote for their preferred player.

Fans will have another opportunity to select their favourite when the shortlist for October’s award is released.
