WEATHER: Strong winds and rain set to lash these provinces

Here is what the weather has in store for KZN, Free State and North West on Thursday 27 August 2026.

KWAZULU-NATAL

Cloudy and cool to warm conditions are expected, with isolated showers and rain in the morning before partly cloudy skies develop.

Evening fog will form over the Midlands. Along the coast, moderate to fresh north-easterly winds will strengthen and turn southerly in the afternoon.

DURBAN

Cloudy conditions with isolated morning showers and rain are expected, followed by partly cloudy skies.

Winds will blow from the north to north-east at moderate to fresh speeds before strengthening in the afternoon.

Temperatures will range from 18°C to 23°C.

FREE STATE

.Morning mist over the extreme east, otherwise partly cloudy, and cool to warm, becoming windy over the southwestern parts in the afternoon.

BLOEMFONTEIN

Bloemfontein is going to be partly cloudy.

Temperatures will range from a minimum of 9°C to a maximum of 25°C.

NORTH WEST

North West is going to be partly cloudy, windy and warm.

MAHIKENG

Mahikeng is going to be partly cloudy and windy.

Temperatures will range from a minimum of 12°C. to a maximum of 25°C.
