Being Dead Sign to Polyvinyl, Plan to “Take Over the World”

Translate

Being Dead have signed to Polyvinyl and shared their first songs in two years. “Man or Myth” is the Austin rock trio ode’s to Marc Ornstein, a famed “interpretive freestyle” canoeist, while “Aquarium” is about “the taboo nature of falling in love in the workplace, which is especially scandalous if the workplace is an aquarium and your coworker is a dolphin,” according to the band. Both come with music videos directed by Being Dead’s own Falcon Bitch, which you can watch below.

“We don’t mean to put too much pressure on Polyvinyl,” Being Dead said in press materials, “but if we’re not inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame within the next two years, we’re throwing in the towel. That said, we have full confidence that together, we will take over the world.”

“Man or Myth / Aquarium” follows 2024’s Eels, Being Dead’s John Congleton-produced sophomore LP. Congleton also returned to work on both new songs.
