It is now official that the Supercoppa Italiana will be played on Tuesday December 22 between Inter and Lazio at San Siro, ending the Final Four format.
The trophy has traditionally been a pre-season clash between the Scudetto winners and the holders of the Coppa Italia.
In recent years, it transformed to be largely hosted abroad in China or Saudi Arabia, and adopted a Final Four format where there were semi-finals involving the runners-up of those two tournaments.
Supercoppa Italiana back to basics

With Saudi Arabia opting not to take up hosting duties this season, the Lega Serie A decided to go back to basics and on home turf.
It is going to be a one-off match between Inter, who actually won both trophies, and Coppa Italia runners-up Lazio.
San Siro will host the kick-off on Tuesday December 22 at 20.00 UK time (21.00 local).

If the score is level after 90 minutes, they will go to extra time and potentially even a penalty shoot-out.
Due to sponsorship reasons, it will officially be called the EA Sports FC Supercup 2026/27.
