Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze was in action as AC Milan edged out Atalanta in a thrilling 3-2 victory in Sunday’s Serie A encounter at the San Siro.

The Rossoneri asserted control early on, utilizing 56% possession to pin Atalanta back. The breakthrough arrived in the 24th minute when Gonçalo Ramos calmly converted from the penalty spot to give Milan a 1-0 lead.

Milan continued to press and doubled their advantage just before the break. In the 43rd minute, Diego Moreira set up Adrien Rabiot, who slotted home an excellent finish to send the hosts into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 cushion.

The match opened up dramatically after the interval. Milan had a golden opportunity to extend their lead further when they were awarded a second penalty, but Ramos saw his spot-kick saved.

However, any lingering frustration was instantly erased moments later when Mario Gila fired home from open play in the 57th minute to make it 3-0.

Staring down a heavy defeat, Atalanta mounted a spirited comeback. Gianluca Gaetano pulled one back for the visitors in the 66th minute, shifting the momentum. Pushing bodies forward, La Dea applied heavy pressure, and Nikola Krstović struck in the 81st minute to narrow the deficit to 3-2.

Despite a nervy final ten minutes, Amorim’s side managed to shut down the spaces and withstand Atalanta’s late surge, successfully holding on to claim a vital home victory.
