Known as 'Cyberpunk 2077's' biggest fan, Angharad is a Welsh games writer who thrives in anything related to digital storytelling. If a video game explores the intricacies and horrors of womanhood, she is there.

Thanks to previous work at GAMINGbible, GameByte, The Loadout, Game Luster, Angharad has built a strong understanding of both the digital world and what fans want from it and is eager to share her thoughts and expertise with readers.

Since the first book in the saga, aptly named Dungeon Crawler Carl, the LitRPG series has gone on to become one of the most successful of all time thanks to the incredible science fantasy world created by author Matt Dinniman. Starting its life as a self-published novel, the series now boasts eight entries altogether, with a ninth on the way. However, the success does not end there.

Set in a world where Earth's resources have been taken control of by an alien corporation, Carl and his ex-girlfriend's cat, Princess Donut, find themselves having to compete in a dungeon crawl as part of an intergalactic reality show program. Joined by a whole cast of bizarre characters, the Dungeon Crawler Carl series boasts a legion of dedicated fans, and whilst they wait for the series to be completed with one additional volume split across two books, there is another exciting release to look forward to.

To nobody's shock or surprise, the Dungeon Crawler Carl world is set to welcome a roleplaying game courtesy of Renegade Game Studios. Launching on 28 November, the roleplaying game already offers potential players the chance to get their hands on dice sets, rulebooks, miniature sets, and the game itself, which is titled Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable. As the official item description reads:

This version of Unstoppable is set in the 18-floor World Dungeon of the Dungeon Crawler Carl novel. Fight your way through mobs and bosses as Carl or Princess Donut! Play solo or bring along a friend for a co-op crawl!

With this card-crafting system, each card is a sleeve with swappable parts. You’ll craft and customize your cards as you play! The power curve in this “momentum builder” gives you a fighting chance against the threats you’ll face.

Explore a single floor of the World Dungeon each time you play. This box contains the first three floors. In true roguelite fashion, however, only a few benefits that you purchase with XP will carry over to the next floor!

Created by John D. Clair, this solo or two-player cooperative experience offers a roguelike, deck-building extravaganza for fans of the hit LitRPG series, but fans will also be interested to learn that Dungeon Crawler Carl: Smush is also available for pre-order ahead of November's big launch.

As mentioned, Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable also welcomes accompanying dice sets, and Dungeon Crawler Carl: Smush is one such example of the packs up for grabs. Featuring a fiery red, orange, and yellow color scheme, this dice set is inspired by the Smush skill, and includes 1 x d4 | 1 x d6 | 1 x d8 | 1 x d10 | 1 x d12 | 2 x d20 | 1 x d2. As the feature list details, you will receive:

  • 7 full-color acrylic dice and 1 d2 Poker style chip with pearlescent treatment
  • Package in a themed reusable window box package
  • These dice have different numbers on each side, so when they roll them, you don’t know what you’ll get. Exciting, right?

So, if you are going to be checking out Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable when it launches in November, make sure to get yourself an accompanying dice set and play the game in style.
