Translate

A four-year-old boy has died after a car he was a passenger in crashed in West Lothian.

The single-vehicle crash involving a black Range Rover happened on Drumcross Road near Bathgate at about 16:30 on Friday.

The boy was taken to St John's Hospital in Livingston where he died a short time later.

The 28-year-old driver of the Range Rover was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Sgt Dave Waddell said: "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the boy who died at this extremely difficult time.

"Inquiries are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash, or has any information that may assist, to contact us, external if they have not already done so.

"I'd also ask drivers with dash-cams, who were in the area around the time, to review their footage for any images that could assist with our investigation."
