Translate

A road transport department (JPJ) officer was killed and another seriously injured in a crash involving their vehicle and two lorries at KM256 of the North-South Expressway last night.

JPJ director-general Aedy Fadly Ramli said the accident occurred as the officers were carrying out patrol duties. He said they had stopped a lorry along the emergency lane near the Senawang interchange.

“Another lorry suddenly crashed into the rear of the JPJ vehicle and a third lorry, causing the accident,” he was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.

Aedy said the injured JPJ officer is receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar in Seremban.

He said JPJ would cooperate fully with police investigations to determine the cause of the crash, including whether negligence was involved.
