KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 — Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) recorded revenue of RM152.4 billion in the first half of 2026, driven by higher domestic production and increased liquefied natural gas (LNG) sales volumes.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said revenue was also supported by processed gas sales and higher average realised prices for key products following the geopolitical crisis in West Asia, according to a report published by Berita Harian.

However, she said Petronas also faced higher cost of sales due to increased crude oil import and processing costs, in line with its commitment to maintaining stable operations and ensuring the security and sustainability of the country’s energy supply, despite stronger market prices.

“Petronas carries out its corporate social responsibility through initiatives designed to be inclusive, high-impact and aligned with the sustainable development agenda, thereby contributing to improvements in the quality of life and well-being of local communities.

“Petronas also implemented more than 1,000 initiatives benefiting recipients from various backgrounds and with different needs across the country between 2020 and last year.

“It also works with the government and local agencies to ensure every programme is implemented effectively and delivers sustainable impact,” she said in a written parliamentary reply published on the Parliament portal today.

She was responding to a question from Datuk Ewon Benedick (GRS-Penampang) on Petronas’ revenue from oil sales since February and the amount channelled to the government for public assistance or development programmes.
