Practical Magic 2 runtime confirmed as first movie climbs Netflix's trending chart

After an incredibly long wait, Practical Magic 2 is due to be released in cinemas in September. With just under a month to go until the highly-anticipated fantasy film hits the big screen, the runtime has just been confirmed.
As per the Irish Film Classification Office (IFCO), the follow-up will be just under 130 minutes – or 2 hours and 10 minutes – in length. This is markedly longer than its predecessor, which was over 25 minutes shorter at 104 minutes.
The eagerly-awaited sequel is based on Alice Hoffman's 2021 novel The Book of Magic, and sees Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman reprise their respective roles of Sally and Gillian Owens.

Set 25 years after the previous film, Sally's daughter Kylie (now played by Joey King) discovers some secrets about her family and develops some dark abilities of her own. From there, the Owens family is plunged into chaos.
The film is being co-written by Kelly Marcel, Georgia Pritchett and Akiva Goldsman, the latter of whom co-wrote the screenplay for the original 1998 film. Susanne Bier, meanwhile, takes over as director from Griffin Dunne.
There's also some changes in the casting department, with the aforementioned King taking over from Evan Rachel Wood. Maisie Williams, meanwhile, replaces Alexandra Artrip in the role of Antonia.
Bullock and Kidman aren't the only stars to return, however, as Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest will reprise their respective roles as Frances and Jet. Other cast members include Lee Pace, Solly McLeod and Xolo Maridueña.
Kidman, who also serves as a producer for the follow-up, recently explained why she decided to reprise the iconic part, with the Australian actor noting that she was far more keen to return than Bullock.
"It was an actual demand from people. They were like, 'Do we get this? Can we please?'" she recalled. "Then it was whether Sandy wanted to do it. Let's put it this way. I'm like: 'Why not?' and she's like: 'Why?'"

While Bullock had some apprehension, the actor said that soon dissipated when it came to filming, noting: "Nicole and I hadn't seen each other for decades... But somehow we seamlessly stepped right back into these two sisters' shoes like no time had passed at all."
While there's still a little wait until the sequel hits the big screen, the original film has found a new lease of life in the UK at least, with it currently being at #8 in Netflix's film chart (via FlixPatrol).
Practical Magic 2 is released in cinemas on 11 September.
