The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Ogun State, Solomon Adeola, has pledged to sustain efforts to empower young people and create opportunities for their contributions to the development of the state and the country.
Adeola gave the assurance at the Ogun East Mega Rally organised by the Yayi Progressives Movement at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
He expressed excitement over the turnout, particularly the participation of thousands of young people in a solidarity walk organised ahead of the rally, describing their commitment as a reaffirmation of his confidence in the capacity of Nigerian youths.
“Definitely, our commitment to empowering the youth and help them to succeed while also contributing their much needed quota to the development of our dear state and the country at large will never be brushed aside in our efforts to serve the people and take the state to higher height,” he said.
The rally, which attracted political leaders, legislators, local government chairmen, artisan groups, market associations, youth organisations and party supporters from the nine local government areas of Ogun East Senatorial District, formed part of the political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
One of the highlights was the inauguration of more than 1,100 Artisan Ambassadors drawn from various trades, including tailoring, mechanics, carpentry and hairdressing, as part of efforts to expand YPM’s grassroots mobilisation network across Ogun East.

Speaking at the event, the convener of YPM, Akintunde Armstrong, described the gathering as the beginning of a wider political mobilisation drive aimed at consolidating support for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
He disclosed that similar rallies would be organised in Ogun Central and Ogun West, expressing confidence that the movement’s growing grassroots influence would translate into electoral victories for the party.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, who attended the rally alongside other political leaders, also reaffirmed the APC’s determination to secure victory at all levels of the 2027 elections.
While introducing the party’s candidates from Ogun East, the governor called for a united electoral front, stressing that votes for the APC must be secured from the presidential election down to the legislative and other contests.
Abiodun said the state had a responsibility to deliver on its electoral commitment to President Bola Tinubu, insisting that the party must not lose any votes.
“We have promised our President two million votes, and not a single vote must be lost. After all, there is no opposition in Ogun State,” the governor said.
